Prof. Anubhuti Yadav is Head of the Department of New Media and Course Director of Advertising and Public Relations Course. She is also holding the responsibility of Dean Students’ Welfare. She is member of Executive Council and Academic Council. She also held charge as a course director of the English Journalism Course for the academic year 2017-18.
Prof. Yadav comes with more than 15 years of experience in teaching and research. She started her career with Advertising agency in 2000 and worked on prestigious campaigns like Rajasthan Tourism. Later she moved to academics and joined IIMC in 2002 and taught advertising and research for three years. She joined National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in 2006 to work in areas like educational media, educational technology, New Media and media literacy. Her work in the area of educational media won her four national awards as best script writer and researcher for the series on women achievers, Paramveer Chakra awardees and media literacy.
She is a leading expert and an active promoter of media literacy in India. She undertook various projects to promote digital and media literacy education in India.
She played a key role in the launch of National Repository of Open Educational Resources, the project she coordinated for Ministry of Human Resources and Development. The project was mentioned in the Highlights of Achievements of the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2014.
She has also contributed in the design & development of digital tools like Infogram and Edmodo which are being widely used by Journalists and Educators around the world.
She is advising Facebook on their Digital Literacy project and working closely with Google on their Google News Initiative Training network in India .She is a certified trainer on Factchecking and Verification. She has conducted workshops on Fact checking and Verification for the Journalists, Media Educators and Media Students. She is also member of technical committee on Pradhan Mantri Digital Saksharta Abhiyan. She is advisor to Media Ownership Monitor India Project an initiative by Reporters without Border to map ownership pattern in Media Industry across the globe.
She teaches New Media, Data Journalism and Advertising & Public Relations. She has conducted research in areas like media literacy, women & media, media & children, Informational and communication technology, and New Media and has presented papers at various national and international conferences. She has organised training programmes in New Media for the Officers from Armed Forces, Para military forces and also for various ministries like Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technnology.
She is the co-author of Indian edition of Media Literacy: Key to interpreting media messages book developed under Digital International Media Literacy Project. She is currently working on a book on New Media Journalism.
Prof Yadav was a Jury Member of various Festivals and awards like Woodpecker Film Festival, National Science Film Festival, Prakrati Festival, CEC, MHRD and Kaliedo Awards organized by the Brand Equity, ET.
She has received Innovative Use of ICT in Education award during the ICT Conclave on Education 2016 organised by DELL, Public Relations Society of India award for Contribution to Mass Communication Education in 2018, Women of Excellence Award by Women Economic Forum ( WEF) and Web Wonder Women Award by the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare for using twitter to create awareness on Fake News and Misinformation.
