The one-year Post-Graduate Diploma Course in
Advertising and Public Relations was started in 1981 to fulfill a
long-felt need in this expanding field of mass communication.
The course entails two broad areas viz. Advertising and Public
Relations. It aims at building an understanding of the role and
potential of communication and instill in scholars an ability to
integrate various communication tools for achieving organizational goal,
brand strategies et al. An effort is made to groom the students as team
leaders and problem solvers.
A three-tier faculty system operates for the teaching and training of
the PGD, which includes the Core faculty, practitioners from the
industry and Senior Professionals, who are invited from time to time to
share their experiences and enlighten the students about the industry.
Hands-on experience is thus given emphasis along with valuable
theoretical knowledge. The Advertising and Public Relations PGD
programme has kept itself abreast of the changing market environment and
the expectations of the industry.
