Brief Profile

Dr. Jisha K is an academic currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Southern Regional Campus, Kottayam having more than a decade of teaching experience. She holds a PhD in Visual Communication from Bharathidasan University and an MPhil in Communication from GRD College of Science. She has cleared UGC NET and Kerala SET. Her teaching portfolio spans subjects such as Advertising, Public Relations, and Communication Studies, where she mentors both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Jisha also serves as the Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Council (ICC) and is a member of various committees, including the Students Grievances Committee and the Anti-Ragging and Disciplinary Committee. She also serves as the Hostel Warden at the Kottayam Campus. She is one of the editors of the book titled “Advertising and Public Relations: The Dynamic Duos of Marleting” published by Akinik Publishers . She has published chapters in books with ISBNs by reputed institutions like Adamas University and Madras Christian College and presented papers at national and international conferences. With over 10 research papers in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, her research interests include media and society, mobile communication trends, and cultural studies in advertising. Additionally, she has completed courses on platforms like Coursera and Swayam, and actively contributes to course development and faculty training programs.

Dr. Jisha K, with over a decade of teaching experience, began her career in 2009 and joined IIMC in 2022. She has served at renowned institutions such as Avinashilingam Institute, Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, and PSG College of Arts & Science. She holds a PhD in Visual Communication from Bharathidasan University and has cleared UGC NET and Kerala SET. Specializing in subjects like Advertising, PR, and Corporate Communication, Dr. Jisha has published research papers in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to books by institutions like Adamas University and Madras Christian College. She co-edited the book Advertising and Public Relations: The Dynamic Duos of Marketing. Additionally, she has completed courses via NPTEL and Coursera and participated in Faculty Development Programs, seminars, and workshops. She also passed the Moodle Test for Teachers by IIT Bombay and has presented papers at various academic events.
