Brief Profile

Prof (Dr.) Surbhi Dahiya is presently working as Professor and HOD in the Department of Media Business Studies at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). She also served as Course Director of English Journalism and AdPR department, Dean Students Welfare and Editor Communicator. She is a member of Academic Council and served as a member of Executive Council too.;

Internationally, Prof. Dahiya has represented India at many platforms. She is the IAMCR Faculty Ambassador and an elected member of International Council. She is the Vice President of South Asian Communication Association. Prof. Dahiya was the SUSI Scholar from India in 2017 and Completed the Study of the United States Institute Programme organized by the United States Department of State, conducted at the Ohio University USA .Dr Dahiya is an advisor to Lok Sabha Secretariat for their publications.

Prof. Dahiya chaired a number of sessions and presented many Research papers nationally and internationally in various Conferences of IAMCR, ICA, WJEC, AEJMC, SACA, AMIC etc held in India, USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Finland, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Kenya and China. Academically, Dr Dahiya is a Gold medalist in graduation and studied with scholarship and fee waiver throughout. She holds a Ph. D degree in Media studies and a dual Masters degree. Her thesis was on “Media Management in the Global Scenario: A study of the Changing Management Practices in Media.”;

• SUSI Scholar 2017, Ohio University, E. W. Scripps School of Journalism, Athens, USA. Completed the Fellowship Study of US Institutes as Indian SUSI scholar 2017 at OHIO University USA 6th July to 18th August 2017. Certified from US State Department and Ohio University.  Ph.D..
• M.Sc (Mass Communication and Technology), MBA.
• Qualified UGC National Eligibility Test (NET).
